I
am an author, teacher, mentor, and host of A Writer’s Life podcast. I founded Crow Story House to create a place where writers can take their work seriously, deepen their craft, and be part of a thoughtful literary community.
I came to writing by an unconventional route. Born in West Germany, I immigrated to Canada when I was ten. English was my second language, and for years I believed becoming an author belonged to people with a different education or background. I wrote anyway.
In 2010, I began working with award-winning author and editor Betty Keller. More than a decade of mentorship changed not only the way I approached my own writing, but also how I work with other writers.
My novel Secrets in the Shadows was published by Ronsdale Press in 2019, and my short fiction has appeared in Canadian Stories. I am a graduate of the SFU Writers’ Studio, hold a Liberal Arts Certificate from Simon Fraser University, and am a Certified Guided Autobiography Instructor.
Crow Story House
Crow Story House grew from a simple idea: writers need a place where their work can be taken seriously, where craft can deepen, and where thoughtful conversation about writing still matters.
Through manuscript studios, one-to-one mentorship, lectures, workshops, and dedicated writing sessions, Crow Story House offers writers different ways to strengthen their work and stay connected to the writing life.
The emphasis is always on the work itself: close reading, honest discussion, strong craft, revision, and creating the conditions writers need to keep moving forward.
